15 Years Ago Casino Royale Rebooted James Bond

Those of you who aren't that old (read: born at the turn of the millennium) can't possibly have a stronger connection to how long the James Bond character has been in the movie world. He was a household name during the '70s, but in reality, their parents had already watched and loved Bond in the form of the (now deceased) Sean Connery. The British spy, the gentleman, the one who dresses in stylish suits and always orders a vodka martini (or "Evening," as it's called in the movies in honor of the very famous character) - "shaken, not stirred."

But in 2006, almost exactly 15 years ago, something happened. After 20 films, they changed direction: from the handsome Pierce Brosnan, who then put on the suit for the last time and thanked him, to the British "tough guy" Daniel Craig, who still wears it today. Craig gave us a Bond who was tougher, rougher and less of the gentleman he had proven himself to be over almost five decades (he doesn't care how his drink is served...). They also added more violence, more action and more spectacular action scenes in the form of the now classic parkour scene that starts the film. Who do you think will be the next Bond?

In Casino Royale, as Craig's first film was called, the casino is, as expected, one of the main locations in the film (which has the same title as the "unofficial Bond parody" starring David Niven and Peter Sellers). Choosing the right casino can be a real challenge, so there are guides to the best Swedish casinos to help you choose the right one. It's also a bit funny that the villain in Casino Royale was "our" (Scandinavian) gambler star Mads Mikkelsen, who will next play the role in Indiana Jones 5 opposite James Mangold (Logan).

Daniel Craig has announced that after 15 years of working on his "Walter" he is leaving the set, and the next Bond film "No Time to Die" will be his last (read the review at the best Swedish film archive in UHD 4K). So, Bond's future is still unwritten.
