A spec sheet lists requirements or stated product details; ISO 9000 defines a specification as a document that states requirements (ISO 9000, definition 3.8.8: specification). Start With the Product's Identity
The first job of the sheet is to identify the product. Look for a product name, model name or number, and any version or revision used by the supplier.

Avoid turning a parameter into a quality score. Compare the stated option with the setup used in your sample. Do not rank hardware from one number.
Will it fit the planned packaging?
Ask for product dimensions, the number of units per box, and included accessories. Also check the shape and placement of any parts that affect an insert, pouch, label, or box.
Ask for values that describe the product being quoted, not a similar item shown in a catalog. For custom packaging, confirm the drawing or artwork file. Also confirm whether a cable or another accessory sits in the package and is included in the order.

Do not reject a product only because one sheet is short. First decide whether the missing detail blocks the next step. A buyer who has not selected packaging may not need every carton measurement today. A filling team should not plan until the closure method is identified.
Send the supplier a short list tied to the product under review:
- What product name, model number, and sheet revision describe this sample?
- Where is the filling opening, and is the closure press-on or thread-in?
- What capacity, dimensions, battery capacity, charging port, and voltage options apply to this model?
- How many units and which accessories are included in each stated pack?
- When we buy this product again, which model name, parameters, or revision should we send you, and what changes should we ask you to disclose?

If the supplier sends a brochure, ask which page and values describe the sample. Copy those values into the test record. Leave any unanswered item blank. Do not borrow details from another product page.

A Spec Sheet Gets You to the Sample Test
After reading the sheet, list the instructions needed for filling, closing, charging, and packaging. Use your planned process for the sample check.
Ask the filling and packaging teams to read the same revision before work begins. Confirm which measurement or instruction each team needs. When a necessary detail is missing, send one model-specific question. Do not borrow a value from another page or earlier sample.
