Champions League Predictions: Who Will Advance to Glory?

In the Champions League, a lot can change in a single match. That’s why it is important to take the history of head-to-head matches into account when making Champions League predictions.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid are the defending champions of the Champions League and have won a record 15 titles. They have the longest current winning streak of any club in Europe's top competition and have played in 18 finals, more than any other side. When it comes to champions league predictions, many fans and experts continue to back Real Madrid as strong contenders given their impressive history and consistent performances.

Champions League predictions 2025

Their clash with Manchester City is an epic battle of two elite clubs. The last time these sides met in the knockout stages, the winner advanced to the semifinals. Real is in good form, led by the likes of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe, while City is a mess at the back and struggles to score goals outside of the Premier League.

Carlo Ancelotti will likely bench two of his veterans, David Alaba and Lucas Vazquez. They were both guilty of some alarming defensive work in the second leg against Real Sociedad and a repeat performance could cost them their European title defense. If they can avoid a repeat, they will face Barcelona in the semifinals.

PSV

PSV will hope to rebound from their shock loss to Juventus in the first leg, which ended all square at Ibrox. The Eredivisie champions have struggled domestically in recent weeks, including a loss in the KNVB Cup semi-final to Go Ahead Eagles. They are also missing key players such as goalkeeper Walter Benitez and left-back Tyrell Malacia, who is on loan from Manchester United. U.S. national team striker Sergino Dest could make his return after an 11-month absence from the club's first team.

The Gunners' defense is strong, and Mikel Arteta will likely bolster his attack with either Myles Lewis-Skelly or Mikel Merino. However, injuries have taken a toll on the Gunners' attacking core. Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli are all out, meaning the team will have to rely on Leandro Trossard or Mikel Merino to score.

Aston Villa

After a shaky start to the season, Aston Villa are now on the brink of a miracle. The Midlands club have a chance to win a Champions League quarter-final and a place in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. But they have to overcome a tough run-in, with two games against PSG and three other matches against rivals for the top five.

Eimer is backing both teams to score for a -125 payout (risk $125 to win $100). This is a must-win match for both sides. The winner will qualify for the semifinals and will be a big step towards finishing in the top four.

UEFA Champions League

This is a huge match for Arsenal, which faces a team that has beaten them in every one of their last five meetings. A loss here could seriously hamper their chances of winning the trophy and they will need to be on their best behavior. Unai Emery’s men will need a strong performance from Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio and the rest of their squad to make it happen.

Club Brugge

Club Brugge host Atalanta in the first leg of their Champions League playoff tie at Jan Breydel Stadium. The Belgian side narrowly missed out on direct qualification to the last 16 by finishing ninth in the league phase, and they will need to beat the visiting Italians to have any hope of progressing. Nicky Hayen’s men come into this match in buoyant mood after winning their last two domestic games. A 1-0 triumph over Oud-Heverlee Leuven followed a 3-1 home win over local rivals Cercle Bruges.

However, they have lost 12 times in their previous fourteen visits to England and only Anderlecht (18) and Dynamo Kyiv (15) have played more games on these shores without ever tasting victory. They will need to find an extra gear if they are to upset the odds-on favorites in this high-stakes game.
